The Part-Time MBA Program is pleased to occupy the W&M Peninsula Center in Newport News. The following information is provided to help all students, faculty, and staff enjoy the space safely.
Building Policies & Procedures
University policies regarding COVID-19 building protocols are in effect. Please refer to The Path Forward website for additional information.
Alcohol Policy
- Alcohol is not permitted in the Peninsula Center or any other academic building without an Event Approval and Alcohol Permit from the Dean of Students office. Any student found in possession of alcohol at the Peninsula Center is subject to sanctions from the College.
Building Use Policy
As a part of the William & Mary campus network the Peninsula Center abides by the university's Use of Campus Facilities Policy. Per this policy, "university property is primarily dedicated to academic, student life and administrative functions." In keeping with university policy, the following may be helpful to guide students, staff, faculty, and visitors to campus:- The Peninsula Center is open to visitors between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm, Monday through Thursday during evenings when classes are in session. "Visitors" shall be defined as any person present in the building for a reason other than an academic, student life, or administrative function.
- The Part-Time MBA Program team will serve as the administrators of the scheduling system for the Peninsula Center. The Part Time MBA Program team will maintain a schedule of all events and activities to which space and facilities are allocated. Scheduling requests should be submitted to ptmbaprogram@wm.edu. The Part-Time MBA Program team will make all inquiries necessary to the evaluation and disposition of such requests.

Door-to-door activities such as solicitation and distribution of literature in university buildings is prohibited with the exception of official university communications.

Food/Beverage Policy
- Beverages/liquids may only be consumed in classrooms if they are in closed containers.
- Food/meals may be consumed in the lobby, informal gathering areas, meeting rooms, and classrooms.
- The refrigerator and microwave oven are provided for student, faculty, and staff use. Promptly clean up spills or splatters that may occur.
Smoking Policy
- The W&M Peninsula Center is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building or within 25 feet of the building.
Team Meeting Room Requests
Team meeting rooms at the Peninsula Center are specially designed and equipped to facilitate group work, and priority is given to teams and groups over individual study.
Team meeting rooms are available to MBA students from all programs at all times and can be reserved through the Event Management System (EMS) from 6:00 am – 12:00 am seven days a week.
All room reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance and are restricted to a time limit of up to two hours at a time. Students who routinely violate the two hour restriction may lose their EMS scheduling privileges.

*The Peninsula Center is closed during the following holidays and breaks: Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Memorial Day, and Independence Day/4th of July. The Peninsula Center may also close for inclement weather or building maintenance, which will be communicated to faculty and staff via email.
