Cynthia Lutaaya MBA '15 shares her experience as an IBM intern

Just when I thought I had experienced the highlight of my internship at IBM when we visited the TJ Watson Research facility and witnessed first-hand the roots & future of IBM Watson, I, together with 23 other selected LEADing to Africa interns, were invited to a lunch & learn with Ginni Rometty, the CEO to discuss IBM’s business strategy in Africa.

I was impressed by how IBM is using technology to innovatively impact people’s lives in ways that are relevant to their core. It was obvious from the start of our discussion that Ginni’s heart is in this vision. Before us, she transformed from a CEO to a student who was eager to receive feedback from people who understood Africa’s needs more than anyone else. Her humility was very refreshing. It is nice to see a reputable company like IBM empower young minds.
