Mr. Frank J. Wood served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. from July 31, 2009, to February 28, 2015. Mr. Wood served as a Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer of Foundation Coal Corporation. Mr. Wood serves as the Principal Accounting Officer of Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. Mr. Wood served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Foundation Coal Holdings Inc. since August 2004 and also served as its Principal Accounting Officer. Prior to the Acquisition, Mr. Wood served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Foundation Coal Holdings Inc. (Formerly RAG American Coal Holding, Inc.), from 1999 to August 2004. From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Wood served as Vice President & Controller of Cyprus Amax Coal Company. From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Wood served as Vice President of Administration at Cannelton Inc. From 1979 to 1991, he held various accounting and financial management positions at AMAX Inc.'s coal and oil and gas subsidiaries. He served as a Director of Foundation Coal Corporation. Mr. Wood earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from William & Mary and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
