Keller Boothby: Hoops-to-MBA
William & Mary head men's basketball coach Brian Earl announced the addition of graduate transfer forward Keller Boothby (Plano, Texas / Prestonwood Christian Academy / Cornell) to the Tribe roster for the 2024-25 season. Boothby spent the last four seasons at Cornell with Earl and will enroll in the MBA program at W&M's Raymond A. Mason School of Business.
"I had the pleasure of coaching Keller at Cornell, and he brings experience from a winning culture and has a vast knowledge of our system," Earl said. "He has size and is a great shooter having shot 40-plus percent from 3-point range over his career."
Boothby average nearly seven points to go with 2.3 rebounds per game over his 83 career appearances at Cornell. He started 37 of those contests and was an excellent 3-point shooter, hitting at a 41.8% clip over his career. Over his three years on the court, Boothby scored 548 points, averaged nearly 20 minutes per game, and connected on 150 career 3-pointers.
As a sophomore in 2021-22, Boothby led the Ivy League at 48.8% from 3. He averaged 8.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, starting 12 of his 26 games. Boothby also ranked among the top 10 in the Ivy League in 3-pointers made at 59. He totaled a pair of 20-point games, including a career-high 21 on 7-of-9 from 3-point range against Coppin State. He also had 20 points at Syracuse on six 3-pointers.
Boothby earned Academic All-Ivy League honors in 2024, helping the Big Red it one of the best seasons in school history. He appeared in 29 games, averaged 5.5 points per game and shot 41.5% from 3-point range in helping Cornell to 22 wins, the second most in school history, and the program's first NIT appearance. His 3-point % ranked seventh in the Ivy League, and he knocked down 44 triples, which ranked second on the team. He will earn his degree from Cornell in economics this spring.
The 6-7 forward was an all-state selection out of high school at Prestonwood Christian Academy and helped his program to a state title in 2017. Boothby spent a post-graduate year at Wilbraham and Monson Academy and helped them to a NEPSAC Championship. He earned honorable mention all-league honors, averaging 11.3 points and six rebounds per game for the Titans.
As Keller Boothby joins William & Mary's basketball team, he's also stepping into a new arena—the MBA program at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business. Here's to his success on the court and in the classroom as he begins this exciting chapter in his academic and athletic journey. Welcome to the Tribe, Keller Boothby!
