Business Students Band Together to Support Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

Students from William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business are working together to raise money to support those in southwest Virginia and North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.

The Mason School of Business Hurricane Helene Relief Fund was launched today on GoFundMe. All donations will be sent directly to the Red Cross.

“We reached out to student leaders in the various academic programs across the school and they immediately jumped on board,” said Niko Naranjo, Second Year full-time MBA student and president of the MBA Association. “Students from our undergraduate business program, the one-year master’s, our online programs and our residential MBA programs have been involved in the campaign’s design and launch.”

The students announced the campaign today with a video emailed to Mason School students, faculty, staff and Executive Partners. The video encourages the Mason School community to contribute to the fund and to ask family and friends to do the same.

“We realize many people have already made a donation to the Red Cross, United Way or some other campaign supporting victims of the hurricane,” said Naranjo. “But the effects of Helene will last for months, most likely years. We’re asking those who have given to give again to help our neighbors to the south. For those who have not yet given we encourage them to make a donation to the Mason School’s Hurricane Helene Relief Fund.
