Michaela Diverio ‘07 Named to American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking

Michaela Diverio ‘07, was recently named to American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking: Next 2023 list; an annual list of 15 rising stars in banking and finance.

Michaela, a graduate of the BBA program, joined Barclays in July 2020 and runs the consumer and retail equity capital markets desk. As part of that role, she oversees a team of 10 and drives the execution of initial public offerings, follow-ons, and block trades for clients in the sector. "Since joining Barclays in the midst of the pandemic, Michaela has repeatedly demonstrated her ability to take on the C-suite in the future. Her hard work and persistence are amplified by her passion for her work, her attention to detail, and her exceptional ability to organize teams around opportunities. Michaela knows her trade; she also is fiercely competitive, knows what winning requires, and believes in her right to win," said Taylor Wright, global co-head of investment banking at Barclays.

Michaela began her career at Morgan Stanley as an associate and spent the next six years in equity capital markets and investment banking before moving to Goldman Sachs where she spent 11 years in the equity capital market covering tech, media, and telecom. Outside of work, Michaela volunteers with Venture for America, a program that pairs bankers with young businesses in need to provide free financial consultations. She is also a part of GAC, which is a self-governing body of bankers that has a goal of making the junior banking experience better.

The Raymond A. Mason School of Business is proud to host Michaela on campus this week as a panelist at the 17th annual From DoG St. to Wall St. event where she will share her experience and expertise in investment banking. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Michaela for her well-deserved recognition and inclusion in American Banker’s awards list and we look forward to witnessing her future accomplishments in the finance industry.
