Boehly Center for Excellence in Finance Hosts Reception in NYC
On November 29th, William & Mary alumni and friends attended the Boehly Center for Excellence in Finance Reception in New York City. The annual reception is held to celebrate W&M alumni, parents, and friends who work in the field of finance. In addition to a networking session with some of our most engaged alumni, three awards were presented at the reception.
Dean Larry Pulley ’74 honored Professor Jim Haltiner for his 42 years of service and teaching at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business. Jim currently serves as the Co-Director of the Boehly Center and was presented with a commemorative book of photos including best wishes and heartfelt sentiments from students, faculty, and staff as well as a video compiled in his honor.
Haltiner invited incoming President, Michael Muratore, to present the annual Finance Academy Alumni Award. Finance Academy President and Vice Presidents, Michael Muratore, Murray Ryan, and Caitlyn Farr honored John E. Simmons '92 of J.P. Morgan Chase with the annual Howard J. Busbee Finance Academy Alumni Award, in recognition of all he does to support the professional aspirations of our finance students.
Professor Carl Tack ‘78, also a Co-Director of the Boehly Center presented an appreciation award to Kevin Andrews ‘17, on behalf of his parents Duane and Rebecca Andrews, for their generosity and extraordinary dedication to advancing the mission of the Boehly Center. Although Duane and Rebecca could not make it to New York for the event, their son and former Finance Academy president, Kevin Andrews accepted it on behalf of the Andrews family.
Overall, it was an engaging evening spent in the company of some of the most notable and aspiring financial professionals.
