Mason School Students Unite for Record Breaking Class Gift

William & Mary students in the Full-Time MBA, Master of Accounting, and Master of Science in Business Analytics programs achieved record levels of support for the Raymond A. Mason School of Business for the 2017 Class Gift.
The student-led class gift tradition provides support for Mason School scholarships, faculty research, and academic programs. A group of anonymous faculty organized a matching challenge at milestones, and student representatives from the three programs worked together to encourage higher levels of participation.
The inaugural class of the M.S. in Business Analytics program achieved 100 percent participation, establishing a strong tradition. "We felt it was paramount to set the bar high for future classes to achieve so the program can continue to improve and adapt," said MSBA student Burton Milnor.
The Master of Accounting class set new record-high, achieving 88 percent participation this year. "The Mason School has supported me as a student and helped me develop professionally," said MAcc student Ivanessa Staykova, "forming relationships with my peers, professors, and alumni have helped shape my experience. I'm grateful to be part of this remarkable community, and the opportunity to help support future students."
As the MBA program celebrates its 50th Anniversary this June, the current class is rising to new heights in participation. For the first time the Full-Time MBA achieved 100 percent participation in the class gift campaign. "One of the great things about the Mason School is the comradery among the students," said MBA student Valerie Williams, "and all students, past, present and future, benefit from the strong Mason School brand."
The Executive MBA class will launch their 2017 campaign this summer and conclude in conjunction with the fall commencement. The EMBA class has achieved 100 percent participation three years in a row.
Dean Larry Pulley accepted the gift at a celebration on April 7 in Miller Hall saying, "These participation rates are truly remarkable. With this level of support, the Mason School's bright future is assured."
