John C. Jamison was named Dean, of the School of Business Administration at William & Mary, Williamsburg VA in 1983 after an extensive professional career and military service. He retired from the School of Business in 1990, Professor Emeritus.
The Mason School is still benefiting from John’s leadership and accomplishments, including the launch of the EMBA Program, the development of what is now the FLEX MBA Program, and the establishment of our Business School Foundation. Jamison is credited with diversifying the School of Business administration and staff and raising the School's endowment. Dean Jamison’s energy and effort positioned the school to be among the nation's leading business schools.
Since stepping down as dean, he has remained engaged as one of Williamsburg’s foremost community leaders. He served on over sixty non-profit boards during his lifetime, including several terms as president of the Mariners Museum and as a founding member and Chairman of the Williamsburg Community Foundation. John was instrumental in getting the Williamsburg Symphony into the local schools, using Peter & the Wolf which he narrated many times to the delight of countless students.
