Final Four
On Tuesday, April 10, the W&M CFA Challenge team of Dan Barzach, Dylan Simms, Liz Fireman and Alex Kocher competed in the Americas Region competition in New York. Over 320 teams representing colleges throughout North and South America (outside the NY Metro area) competed in state contests, from which 44 teams advanced to the Americas Regional in New York, the W&M Virginia state champion team among them. Following two rounds of competition Tuesday, four finalists were selected: University of Hawaii, Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Waterloo, and William & Mary. This is a remarkable achievement!
The W&M CFA Challenge team gave an excellent presentation and skillfully handled the questions they faced. In the end, IIT was named the Americas Region winner and will compete against the other three international regional winners in NY.
Congratulations to our team, their mentors Jim Haltiner and Peter Gore, and all the faculty members and fellow students who contributed to their preparation and success!
If you are interested in watching any of the proceedings, the W&M CFA Challenge team’s presentation starts at about the 35:20 minute mark.
