W&M School of Business to host Excellence in Financial Reporting Conference
William & Mary School of Business, in conjunction with Norfolk Southern Corporation, will host the Excellence in Financial Reporting Conference on April 1, 2011.
The conference will bring together accounting professionals, students, faculty, and regulators to discuss emerging trends in financial reporting and special keynote presentations from the top regulators in the U.S.
Program topics will include:
- Current developments in International Financial Reporting
- Currents developments in U.S. GAAP
- Current developments at Government Regulatory Agencies affecting Accounting
- Perspectives on Current Public Sector Financial Challenges
A panel discussion among a variety of accounting professionals from Moody’s CDW Inc., Ernst & Young, Norfolk Southern Corporation, and Dominion Generation will be followed by keynote presentations from the major accounting regulating bodies, which include International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Public Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
In February 2011, the School’s undergraduate and graduate accounting programs were ranked number one for the second year in a row by the Public Accounting Report's 29th Annual Survey of Accounting Professors.
The conference will convene in Alan B. Miller Hall, home of the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary on the historic campus.
