The Mason School of Business welcomes four new professors to campus

Dr. Michael Luchs
Dr. Michael Luchs is an Assistant Professor of Marketing.  He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008.  Dr. Luchs also earned an M.S. in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business, as well as a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Psychology from Tufts University.

Prior to earning his Ph.D., Dr. Luchs worked for over a decade as a consultant and as a manager in industry.  As a Principal of the consulting firm Pittiglio, Rabin, Todd & McGrath, Dr. Luchs worked with a broad client base to improve their product management and marketing practices and performance.  Read more.


Dr. Laura E. Simmons

Dr. Laura E. Simmons is an Assistant Professor - Accounting. She received her B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, her M.B.A. from the University of Houston, and her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

Dr. Simmons' research on securities litigation settlements has been published in a number of reports and is frequently cited in the public press and legal journals.  She has spoken at numerous conferences and appeared as a guest on CNBC addressing the topic of securities case settlements.   Her current research interests focus upon the intersection of accounting and litigation.


Dr. Alex Woods

Dr. Alex Woods is an Assistant Professor - Accounting.  Woods earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.

His teaching assignments at Mason include Accounting for Managerial Decision Making in the full-time MBA program and Managerial Accounting in the flex MBA program. He has extensive work experience assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of key managerial accounting issues and decisions for the United States Air Force. Read more.


L. Allen Slade, Ph.D.

L. Allen Slade, Ph.D. is Director of the Leadership Advantage program at the College of William & Mary, where he is also an associate clinical professor of business.  He coordinates the activities of the Leadership Advantage program and teaches leadership to MBA students.  He is also a Research Fellow at Valtera Corporation.

Allen Slade's research interests are in leadership development, 360 assessment, career development and employee opinion surveys.
