Northrop Grumman Lecture to Host Information Systems Thought Leader, Detmar Straub
The Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary presents the second Northrop Grumman Lecture on April 24, 2008, at 2 p.m. at The College of William and Mary in Blow Hall Room 332. The lecture is sponsored by Northrop Grumman of Newport News, and brings distinguished speakers and practitioners to the school.
This year's distinguished speaker is Professor Detmar Straub who is the J. Mack Robinson Distinguished Professor of Information Systems at Georgia State University. Professor Straub is a leading thinker and expert on Information Systems. The topic of his presentation will be "Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Protection of IT Assets."
The public is invited to this lecture and the business school encourages strategy formulators and senior managers to attend this event.
Professor Straub has conducted research in the areas of Net-enhanced organizations (e-Commerce), information security, technological innovation, IS methodological issues, and international IT studies. He is also a well-recognized consultant in the areas of information security, e-Commerce, and technological innovation.
Detmar has been selected as the incoming Editor-in-Chief of MIS Quarterly, with a term starting in January of 2008. Previously he has served as Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of the AIS (JAIS) and DATA BASE. He was also Co-Editor of DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems. Previously, he was Associate Editor for Management Science as well as an editorial board member on a host of other journals.
