What appealed to you about William & Mary's program?
I love coding and development, and this program was most appealing because of the big emphasis it placed on the technical skills and components of business analytics. Also, after being in Williamsburg for my undergraduate career, I was very comfortable with the area and was excited to continue partaking in some of my favorite experiences in the area, like being a fitness instructor at our campus recreation center!
Why did you ultimately decide to enroll in William & Mary's MSBA program?
My biggest reason was to further my technical background and skills as well as to have time to mature in my professional and personal life. I was excited at the thought of strengthening my technical skills and learning new ones. It was also a great opportunity to hone my soft skills, like working on a team, presenting in front of a crowd, and communicating properly.
What excites you about the field of Business Analytics?
What excites me most about the field of Business Analytics is how fast-paced the field itself is changing and advancing. In our program alone, we used around seven different platforms for manipulating, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data. Continuously learning many different platforms, languages, and data mechanisms was very exciting, and this will not change as I've entered the workforce. I like to stay busy and stay on my toes—this field gives me the perfect opportunity to do so. Work will never be boring!
How would you describe our program to a prospective student?
The Master of Science in Business Analytics program at William & Mary is a perfect opportunity to advance your knowledge, learn technical skills for data analytics, and grow into a better business professional. It gives you the ability to embrace a quickly advancing field of study, communicate more effectively, and learn many different platforms and mechanisms for data analytics.
