It means that the program is currently being reviewed by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) which must formally approve all programs offered by public institutions in Virginia. We expect to receive approval later this spring. Notification of SCHEV approval will be posted on this website.

The 30-credit MS in Nonprofit Management can be completed in one year of full-time study.

W&M undergraduates enrolled in the Bachelor's to Master's Accelerated Program (BMAP) can complete up to 12 credits before graduation, allowing them to take only 18 credits in the following academic year.

All classes taken as full-time graduate students will take place at the W&M Washington Center. Courses taken during the BMAP will be at William & Mary's main campus.

Program administrators will work with students to create individual pathways. For example, some courses may be available online during summer or fall terms to accommodate different schedules.

Yes! While the master's curriculum will start with the Fall 2027 semester, students who have already graduated can still enroll. If students have not yet completed the 12 Williamsburg-based credits, they can enroll as a graduate student and complete those credits during the Spring 2027 semester at the main William & Mary's main campus.

The 30-credit MS in Nonprofit Management has a sticker price of $52,700 (tuition and fees).

Students who complete 12 credits as undergraduates can apply those toward the degree, reducing the remaining cost to $31,302 for the final 18 credits.

Note: The net price may be lower depending on available financial aid and scholarships.

No. However, William & Mary offers rental housing near the W&M Washington Center. Program staff can connect you with these housing resources.

W&M works closely with students and internship organizations to secure internship opportunities. Working with industry partners, W&M will guide students through the application and interview process and will work with those partners to ensure that student internships are impactful.

The degree will be delivered at the W&M Washington Center, although 12 of the credits may be completed on W&M's main campus.

This program suits anyone who desires to create, lead, or manage mission-driven nonprofit organizations. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, the MS program will prepare students to tackle all the challenges encountered in the nonprofit sector.

Students must be in good academic standing and demonstrate clear interest in the nonprofit sector.

The BMAP allows undergraduate students to take graduate coursework that can count for both their undergraduate and graduate degree at William & Mary. An additional benefit of this option is that the graduate coursework may be covered by financial aid (please consult your Financial Aid Counselor for details). Up to 12 credit hours of graduate coursework may be applied to both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. The one-time program fee for the BMAP is $250.

Yes, students will be asked for a one-time program deposit of $500. $250 will be credited back to the student to offset the business course fee and is refundable. The other $250 is nonrefundable and will be used to support BMAP program activities.
