What were some of the highlights you experienced in the MSBA program?

The highlights were definitely around the students that were there with me. They all had a lot of great experience beforehand, and they had a lot to offer to the group as a whole. Being able to work directly on teams and on outside projects was very interesting. Also, the ability to connect with faculty. They were all really helpful and willing to spend extra time to ensure that we had everything we needed to understand the material.

I am at Ernst & Young in their digital analytics practice. A lot of what I do is working with various technological platforms and providing performance improvements for our clients.

What excites you about the field of business analytics?

Really being able to understand the background of things. The world is moving into analytics. You hear about it in sports, the stock market, finance, everything. For me, the ability to use numbers to make a concrete argument is vital.

Describe the William & Mary MSBA experience for a prospective student.

The MSBA program as a whole really focuses on certain pillars—technology, math, business acumen, and communication. Those four pillars have really carried me through in terms of realizing what I learned. The faculty and students are all really talented. They give forth to understand the problems and work together at whichever task is at hand.
