Biography
Christine Petrovits joined the faculty at the Mason School of Business in 2013. She earned her B.B.A. and her M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary, and her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Her research focuses on financial reporting and disclosure in both corporate and not-for-profit organizations and has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, and The Accounting Review. Her work on corporate philanthropy has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and The Washington Post.
Professor Petrovits teaches a range of financial accounting and nonprofit financial management courses in the undergraduate, MAcc, MBA, and executive MBA programs. Professor Petrovits previously taught at the George Washington University School of Business and the NYU Stern School of Business. In addition, she was a Paduano Faculty Fellow in Business Ethics at Stern. Prior to earning her Ph.D., she worked as an auditor for KPMG.
