Biography

Christine Petrovits has been a professor of accounting at William & Mary in the Raymond A. Mason School of Business since 2013. She teaches courses in Financial Accounting, Nonprofit Accounting, and Financial Statement Analysis. Professor Petrovits has won the Executive MBA Outstanding Teaching Award as well as the Full-time MBA Faculty Excellence Teaching Award.

 Her research focuses on financial reporting and disclosure in both corporate and nonprofit organizations and has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Strategic Management Journal, and the Journal of Business Ethics.

 Prior to joining William & Mary, she served on the faculty at The George Washington University School of Business and the NYU Stern School of Business. In addition, she was a Paduano Faculty Fellow in Business Ethics at Stern. Petrovits received her B.B.A. and M.B.A. from William & Mary before earning a Ph.D. in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
