Biography

Saurav Pathak is a Clinical Associate Research Professor of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA, (USA) since August 2022. Prior to arriving at William & Mary, he had been a professor of innovation at various universities including Xavier University, Kansas State University and Michigan Tech University.

At Xavier, he was the D.J. O’ Conor Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship, Cintas Institute for Ethics Faculty Fellow; Downing Research Fellow for Undergraduate Research and the Eigler Faculty Fellow for Community Engaged Pedagogy. At K-State, he was the Tilford Fellow for Multi-cultural competencies and at Michigan Tech University, he was the Rick and Jo Berquist endowed chair in innovation and entrepreneurship.

He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Imperial College Business School and another PhD in Mechanical Engineering (ME) from the University of Florida, a master’s in ME from Ohio University and a bachelor’s in ME from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, India. Following his Ph.D. in ME from the University of Florida, he returned to India and became a member of a high-tech start-up Zeus Numerix, Private Limited, that was incubated in the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai India. He was a Lead Scientist there responsible for providing simulation solutions for India’s defense industry, commercial nuclear power plants, etc. He is currently also the founding director of a consulting firm, Technovation Mangers, that is geared specially to meet the software and technology needs of entrepreneurs and tech start-ups.

His research articles have appeared in FT 50 journals including Human Relations, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies, and other top journals, such as, but not limited to, Business & Society, Journal of Small Business Management, Small Business Economics, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, International Business Review, Technovation, Journal of Technology Transfer, International Journal of Emerging Markets, Cross Cultural Research Journal, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviors and Research, Technology Innovation Management Review, etc. He has published over thirty articles that have been cited over three thousand five hundred times to date.
