Biography

David “Brandon” Hennessey is a creative strategist, educator, and entrepreneurial ecosystem builder whose career spans arts education, venture consulting, and innovation leadership. As Director of the William & Mary Entrepreneurship Hub, he leads initiatives that blend strategic planning, human-centered design, and real-world venture development. A former Small Business Development Center consultant, Brandon has advised hundreds of entrepreneurs across every stage of the startup journey, from ideation to go-to-market, capital formation, and succession. He has secured millions in public-private funding, helped launch region-wide innovation collaboratives, and brings a distinctive people-first approach to building inclusive, high-impact learning environments. His teaching and leadership equip students, startups, and communities to confidently navigate ambiguity, unlock opportunity, and turn ideas into action.
