Biography

Yu Amy Xia is a Professor of Business Analytics. She received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Washington State University, a Master of Science Degree in Statistics from Washington State University, a Master of Engineering Degree in Management Science-Finance fromAntai Business School of Shanghai Jiaotong University in Shanghai China, and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronic Engineering-Automatic Control from Hauzhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan China. Prior to her appointment with William & Mary, she was a faculty member at Northeastern University, where she taught courses in Operations Management and Supply Chain Management. Prior to earning her Ph.D., she worked at the Off-shore Banking Department at the Headquarter of China Merchants Bank.

Dr. Xia's research interest include supply chain management, new technology in supply chain, business analytics and machine learning, sustainability, sourcing planning and risk management. She has published scholarly work in various journals such as Management Science, Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Omega, and IIE Transactions. She has also awarded multiple external research grants on projects on logistic management, blockchains for supply chain management, etc.
