Biography

Dr. Dawn Edmiston is the Clinical Professor of Marketing at William & Mary's Raymond A. Mason School of Business. She is the recipient of the 2021 Fulbright Scholar award at Tallinn University in Estonia, 2018 Thomas and Teri Dungan BBA Teaching Fellowship Award, and 2017 Marketing Management Association Master Teacher Award. 

Dr. Edmiston’s research has been published in various marketing and educational journals to include the Journal of Marketing for Higher Education. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Marketing Education and previously was the special issues editor for the Marketing Education Review and the Journal for Advancement of Marketing Education. Her research on Integrated Marketing Communication in U.S. Public Institutions of Higher Education received the Council for Advancement and Support of Education Alice L. Beeman Award. 

Prior to her career in academia, Dawn held marketing management roles with IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting Services and Discovery Communications (Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel and Discovery Channel Online). She has also consulted for organizations such as the Fred Rogers (Mister Rogers) Center and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).

Her educational background includes two doctorate degrees, a D.M. from University of Maryland University College with Phi Kappa Phi honors and an Ed.D. from William & Mary with Kappa Delta Pi honors. In addition, Dawn holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School (where she was one of two students selected for the international exchange programme at London Business School), a B.S. from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute and an A.A. from Elmira College.
