Biography

Ronald R. Sims is the Floyd Dewey Gottwald Senior Professor in the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary where he teaches leadership, change management, human resources management (HRM), and business ethics.  He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University.  His research focuses on a variety of topics to include leadership, change management, human resource management (HRM), business ethics, employee training, and management and leadership development (i.e. Human Resource Development), and cyber-security resilience.  Dr. Sims is the author or co-author of forty books, eighty-four chapters and more than ninety articles that have appeared in a wide variety of scholarly and practitioner journals.

Professor Sims has provided consultation and executive education in the areas of change management, business ethics/reputation management, HRM and employee and leadership development to organizations in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors over the past forty years.  This work has included diagnosing the need for, design, implementation, and evaluation of organization transformation/change efforts and developing, designing, implementing and evaluating human resource development efforts for employees at all levels of the organization. His most recent books are “Leadership, leaders and leading”, “Succeeding as a front-line manager in today’s organizations”, and Human resources management and ethics: Responsibilities, actions, issues, and experiences” all published in 2021 by Information Age Publishing, Inc.  Professor Sims retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserves in 1997 after twenty-four years of active and reserve service.
