Biography

Guillermo Rodríguez-Abitia holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems, both by the Tecnológico de Monterrey in México. As a Fulbright scholar, he obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Information Systems, at the University of Texas at Arlington.

He has more than 35 years of academic experience in various institutions. He has numerous publications in journals and conferences. He currently serves as Senior Editor of the Data Base for Advances in Information Systems, Associate Editor for Communications of the Association for Information Systems, and Guest Editor for both the Information Systems Journal, and the Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries.

He has been an active participant and board member in academic and professional associations such as AIS, where he was a Council member for four years, as AMCIS representative and region 1 (The Americas) representative. Before joining William & Mary he was the Director for Innovation and Technology Development at the General Direction of Information Technologies of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM)
