Biography
Robert Fisher is Senior Special Counsel to the Director of the Examinations at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He has been at the SEC since 2002, first serving as Financial Economist to the Office of Economic Analysis, then as Assistant Director, Deputy Director and Acting Director to the Office of International Affairs, and as Managing Executive of Examinations, among other roles. From 2019 to 2021, he was on detail from the SEC to the Council of Economic Advisers as a Senior Financial Economist as well as their General Counsel. Prior to the SEC, he worked as an attorney for several prominent law firms and was also an academic economist. He has a JD from Harvard Law School and a Ph.D. in Economics from Duke University.
