Biography

Christine Petrovits joined the faculty at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business in 2013. She earned her B.B.A. and her M.B.A. from William & Mary, and her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her research focuses on financial reporting and disclosure in both corporate and not-for-profit organizations and has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Strategic Management Journal, and The Accounting Review. She currently serves on the editorial board of the American Accounting Association’s Journal of Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting.

Christine was previously an assistant professor of accounting at the George Washington University School of Business and the NYU Stern School of Business. In addition, she was a Paduano Faculty Fellow in Business Ethics at Stern. Prior to earning her Ph.D., Christine worked as an auditor for KPMG.
