Experience

Presley Consulting, LLC, Principal. Since 2008 provided consulting services to distressed or troubled banks including formulating strategic plans to recapitalize and navigate through regulatory actions (such as Memorandum of Understanding or Cease and Desist). Worked with over 10 financial institutions in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.  All engagements resulted in resolution of financial concerns, removal of regulatory actions, and a positive outcome for shareholders.

Lumber Liquidators, Chairman, President and CEO. Served on the Board of Directors starting in 2006 and assisted with taking the privately-held company public in 2007. Served as Lead Director from 2007-2015 and assumed the leadership reigns during an organizational crisis in late 2015. Led the business through regulatory and legal challenges with the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Consumer Protection Agency.  Rebuilt management team and set the company on a path to move forward.

Marshall & Ilsley Bank, Chief Financial Officer. Served as CFO of the $50 Billion Dollar financial services institution headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, with branches in six states. Organization was the parent company of Metavante, a pioneer in online bill-pay and online banking services, who provided third-party services to banks throughout the US. Handled all investor relations activities, M&A, treasury and ALCO.

National Commerce Financial, Chief Financial Officer. Served as CFO of the $24 Billion Dollar financial services institution headquartered in Memphis, TN and led the transaction for their $7 billion dollar sale to SunTrust (now Truist) in 2004.  Was with the company from 1988 until this sale in various capacities including CFO of their supermarket banking consulting company, NCBS, and President and CEO of First Market Bank 1997-2003.  NCF was historically recognized as one of the nation’s most efficient and profitable banks in the US.

First Market Bank, President and CEO. 
As a member of National Commerce, forged the partnership with Ukrop’s Supermarkets to create the first joint-venture financial institution, First Market Bank. Opening inside Ukrop’s stores in Richmond, VA in November of 1997, the bank organically grew to include over 31 locations (in-store and free-standing) including Fredericksburg and Williamsburg. Provided a complete array of services including commercial lending, investment services, dealer-finance and more.  In five years, the bank grew to $1 Billion in assets making it one of the fastest growing banks in the country.
