Why William & Mary?

One of the key reasons I chose William & Mary was the exceptional communication process with the admissions team. From the outset, I felt genuinely valued as an applicant, which was a refreshing change compared to my experiences with other colleges. I also recognized the strong correlation between the MBA program's prestige and the career opportunities it would open up, making William & Mary's reputation a crucial factor in my decision. The Executive Partner Program, the outstanding alumni network, and the collaborative nature of the cohorts were particularly appealing and gave me confidence that I would be well-supported. Since starting the program, I've found that these aspects have met and exceeded my expectations, affirming that I made the right choice.

What have been some highlights for you during the program?

I received a call from my recruiter at JPMC about landing an internship while I was in class. At that point in the semester, it had become a running joke that anyone stepping out for a phone call might be fielding a potential internship offer. When I returned to the classroom, a friend asked if I had received the internship, and upon confirming, my classmates immediately gathered around to hug and congratulate me. Their support was incredibly meaningful and made me feel elated.

Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed my time as President of the MBA Association (MBAA). Our Executive Board was composed of dedicated students who collaboratively fostered engagement between cohorts. This role was profoundly rewarding and provided valuable opportunities to develop my leadership skills.

What value did your MBA experience have on your professional growth?

My MBA experience has been invaluable to my professional growth and made me value connecting with people. I've learned that personal development involves engaging with a diverse range of individuals, which in turn can significantly benefit professional advancement. I now approach every interaction—whether at a coffee shop or a conference—as a potential opportunity for new job prospects or lasting connections. The MBA program has profoundly changed my life, enhancing my abilities as a person, leader, and colleague, and has even led to a significant increase in my salary.
