What appealed to you about William & Mary?
William & Mary is a very prestigious school. It's a highly regarded university nationwide. When I heard about the Part-Time MBA program, it sounded like the perfect option for me because I could pursue a powerful degree at a great institution, and I could do it while working full-time.
How did the Part-Time MBA program affect how you approached your work professionally?
The Part-Time MBA program was applicable to every position I held at the shipyard, whether it was working in a blue-collar role as an electrician or in a white-collar role as a financial analyst. Information I learned in the courses—like statistics, accounting, and finance—all was applicable. Now, I can also look at things from a bigger picture and help make recommendations on how to plan out different jobs and execute our plans.
How did you get your current role?
I attended the Meet the Firms event that William & Mary hosts, and I met with the Department of Defense's Office of the Inspector General. I accepted their offer to work as an Auditor, and I now mostly conduct healthcare performance audits that range from self-generated by the agency to congressional requests.
