Raymond A. Mason School of Business Introduces New Diversity & Inclusion Series

This fall, the Raymond A. Mason School of Business launches a new virtual Diversity & Inclusion series entitled “D&I Perspectives.” The series is designed to advance the knowledge of the Mason School community around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Recognizing this is a topic that has global as well as national and local implications, the Business School has designed the series for all members of the Mason community.

The first virtual presentation in the series, “D&I – A Global Perspective,” takes place on September 17 at noon. Kristyn Allred, a member of the Mason Community who recently conducted D&I research in the UK and the Middle East, will present some of her findings and insights. This interactive session will explore global issues of diversity and the role of historical conflict in interpersonal dynamics. Kristyn shares her insights on what works and what gets in the way of making our communities and organizations more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

Over the academic year, the D&I Perspectives series will consist of virtual keynote events that address broad topics of diversity presented by professionals versed in specific expertise. The keynote events allow participants to understand the “big picture” of how diversity, equity, and inclusion impact, or are impacted by, the session topic. Planned small group events held a few days later allow participants to further discussion while exploring the topic’s impacts and relevance to business leadership.

The series includes the following keynote presentations:

  • D&I - A Global Perspective
  • Women's Equality & the Right to Vote
  • A Business Perspective
  • The LGBTQ+ Perspective
  • Race in America
  • What Companies Are Doing to Stand Up to Racism
  • World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialog and Development

More information on each event, including registration information, will be forthcoming.

Questions on the series should be addressed to [[m|rex.holmlin,Rex Holmlin]], faculty and chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
