Competitions

Each year there are a plethora of competitions and challenges for MBA Students to engage in. Below, the MBA Program Team has compiled a list of past competitions that students have participated in. Don't see something that interests you here? Check out MasonLink and MBA Exchange for more!

If you find a national competition that you are interested in, please inform the [[m|mba.program,MBA Program Team]], as we can provide resources to aid in your success. If multiple teams seek to participate in any competition that restricts the number of teams, it is the MBA Program Office Policy to have a faculty and staff committee select the best team(s) to represent the Mason School of Business. 

ACG Cup Competition

Each year the Mason School of Business participates in the ACG Cup - The Premier MBA Competition. This competition involves M&A, financial advisory, private equity and investment banking. The ACG Cup is this region’s leading MBA business case competition, presented by the Association for Corporate Growth, Richmond Chapter (ACG Richmond) and presenting sponsor Williams Mullen.  For the past few years we have had several 1st and 2nd year FTMBA teams participate in this competition. The Richmond ACG Cup provides a unique opportunity for MBA Finance students to challenge themselves in tackling a real-world business problem in two of the most dynamic and sought after market segments, investment banking and private equity.  The first round will take place in January/February and the FINAL ROUND will take place at the end of February.

Nespresso Sustainability MBA Challenge

Nespresso, in partnership with the Sustainable Markets Intelligence Center (CIMS) and Latin America’s leading Business School INCAE organize and manage the bi-annual global MBA Challenge. Intended to provide students with real-world experience that will encourage healthy competition, the case study is based on extensive research carried out by Nespresso on sustainable sourcing of coffee. 

National Sports Forum Case Cup Competition

The National Sports Forum case competition is a competition at the National Sports Forum located in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 10 -12, 2019.  The case is multidisciplinary allowing students to utilize many skills gained while in graduate school.  

MBA Case Competition - Chamber of Commerce
This competition allows students the opportunity to explore important business issues.  The date of the competition is November 30 and it will be located at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC.
3rd Annual Goodyear Innovation Challenge

As stated on the promotional flyer, this challenge is a business design and innovation competition sponsored by Goodyear in collaboration with CWRU's Weatherhead School of Management.

The Hult Prize

The Hult Prize Foundation is a start-up accelerator for budding young social entrepreneurs emerging from the world’s universities. Named as one of the top five ideas changing the world by President Bill Clinton and TIME Magazine, the annual competition for the Hult Prize aims to create and launch the most compelling social business ideas—start-up enterprises that tackle grave issues faced by billions of people. Winners receive USD1 Million in seed capital, as well as mentorship and advice from the international business community.
