Master of Accounting

The availability of reliable and transparent financial information has never been more critically important than it is in today's dynamic global business markets. As a result, the career opportunities available to accounting professionals have never been more exciting - or more in demand.

Our Master of Accounting (MAcc) degree, ranked #5 nationally for small schools, prepares you to meet this demand by combining William & Mary's rigorous academic tradition with the Mason School's commitment to "Bring Business into the Business School."

If you have prior accounting coursework, you can start in the fall or spring, whenever you complete your undergraduate degree. But even if you have no prior accounting coursework, you can join the summer Boot Camp and finish with your Master of Accounting degree by the following May.

Find Your Niche

Unlike other programs, the Mason School's MAcc lets you go beyond the core curriculum with market-driven emphases in Auditing and Assurance, Valuation and Advisory Services or Taxation (with an option for a Master of Tax Equivalent). Or, consider our emphasis in Accounting Research to explore a career as an accounting professor.

Boost Your Resume

Experiential learning opportunities are the hallmark of the Mason School experience. Our one-of-a-kind Cybersecurity Sprint Week provides the valuable opportunity to collaborate with a top accounting firm to explore real-world issues and develop skills that are key to your career success.

Accelerate Your Promotion

With our Integrated Winter Field Experience (Experiential emphasis) spend seven weeks in a paid accounting internship during the spring semester and benefit from real-world immersion into the accounting profession - and get promoted faster.
