Prior to beginning to teach at The Raymond A. Mason School of Business in 2009, Rick Spatz began his 30-year career in advertising with Leo Burnett Company, moving to D'Arcy, Masius, and Benton & Bowles for a 21-year run in Account Management that included several overseas assignments. He led strategic and advertising development for agency clients that included Procter & Gamble, Mars Inc., Nestle, Roche, Cadbury, Heinz, Union Carbide, and Chi Chi's Mexican Restaurants. Rick left the U.S. in 1992 to work with D'Arcy overseas as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Account Director on the Mars Inc. business, gaining in-depth, hands-on involvement with most regions of the world, including the initial opening of Russia and China to Western companies.
After living in Belgium and Holland, he moved to Singapore to be Asian Regional Account Director on Mars, P&G, and Roche, working with teams in virtually all countries across Asia.
Rick received his bachelor's degree from the College of Wooster and then attended the University of Chicago, earning a master's degree in Russian history and an MBA with a marketing concentration.
Rick is also an Executive Partner and former Executive Director of the EP program.
