Ms. May retired in 2009 from Verizon Corporation as Vice President Federal Regulatory Affairs in Washington DC. Her expansive career included positions in operations; network facility engineering; personnel management and development; business development and planning; marketing; and regulatory policy development and advocacy.
Since retiring, Ms. May has focused her time volunteering for the Homeowners’ Association (HOA), the Ford’s Colony Country Club, and the community at large. Her activities and contributions include the following: HOA Newcomers’ Club responsible for Membership (2010-2011) and the Newsletter (2012); Member of the HOA Strategic Planning Committee responsible for (1) the development, implementation, summarization and evaluation of the responses to the 2013-2014 Triennial Resident Survey, (2) the development of the HOA Values by which the HOA Board and it’s residents will conduct business (2015), and (3) inclusion of Survey Results in the restructured Strategic Plan for the Community (2015); Tournament Director (2011) and President (2012) of the Ford’s Colony Country Club (FCCC) 18-Hole Ladies Golf Association (LGA-18), as well as participation on or chair of various golf committees; Representative of the LGA-18 on the expanded FCCC members board (CCMA) (2012); Current At-Large member of the FCCC Handicaps/Rules/Tournaments Committee (HRT); 2014 Community Leadership Service program; and, Ad Hoc committee member advising the James City County Superintendent of Schools in the development of a communication plan regarding education achievements for the county (2014).
Ms. May earned her BA in Political Science from the University of Vermont and attended the Columbia Executive Business Program in New York.
