Dan Malone



Malone is distinguished as a career U.S. Army officer specializing in R&D and Intelligence. His senior military and civilian careers have focused further on technology and policy. He led a team to create project management organizations for missiles and space programs. His assignments have taken him to Washington, D.C. for duty on Army Staff, Joint Staff, and the Defense Intelligence Agency. Posted to Moscow, he became Military Attache' and later represented Under Secretary of Defense R&D at the senior U.S. delegation to NATO during the Carter and Reagan Administrations. He became President of Wild and Leitz Technologies, U.S.A. after tenure as a consulting engineer for its parent Swiss precision optics company, Wild Heerbrugg.

He served as advisor to the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology and advisor to the Virginia Legislature Joint Commission on Technology and Science for Internet development. 

Malone has a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy and an MBA from Syracuse University. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Defense University.
