Frankle is a Partner in Frankle, Sargeant & Friedman, a law/consulting firm specializing in space-related law and government law, including ethics, export control, and contracts. As former General Counsel for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), he was responsible for its legal affairs and served as its Designated Agency Ethics Official. He supervised more than 125 NASA attorneys at NASA's Washington, D.C., Headquarters and at all its Field Centers. He previously held positions as NASA Deputy General Counsel and Chief Counsel for the Goddard Space Flight Center, Associate Director for Policy and Administrative Systems of the Selective Service System, Associate Chief Trial Attorney and other positions in the Office of the Navy General Counsel, and as an aerospace engineer at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, Maryland.
Frankle received his bachelor's degree and his master's degree in aerospace engineering from the Catholic University of America and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center where he was an editor of the Law Journal. He received the Presidential Distinguished Rank Award for Distinguished Executive, the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, and numerous other awards and honors.
