Conen recently retired after nearly thirty years in Human Resources management within Siemens, a global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering, operating in the industry, energy and healthcare sectors. With over ten years experience as the top HR executive for the water technologies and automotive business units of Siemens, Lori has demonstrated success in corporate, technical and manufacturing environments. During her tenure with the precision manufacturing components facility in Newport News, VA, the plant earned honors as “America’s Best Plant” by IndustryWeek magazine and also received the U.S. Senate Award for Quality & Productivity.
Conen attended the University of Michigan, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology. She also holds a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University and participated in a three week senior leadership development program run for Siemens A.G. by Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Lori has been involved in numerous community and educational initiatives during her career, including a stint as an appointee by the governor on the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Workforce Council, and Board positions on the Thomas Nelson Community College Foundation, the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, and the Girl Scouts Council of the Colonial Coast.
