The Graduate Career Management Center (GCMC) provides students in the MSBA program a comprehensive suite of services including classes, workshops, online resources, one-on-one advising, and corporate development, that integrates career planning and preparation into the MSBA experience. Career planning is an important part of the Mason experience and your partnership with the GCMC begins as soon as you are admitted. As a MSBA student, you will have an infrastructure of support to guide you through the job search process.
The GCMC includes advising staff dedicated to your career success. They come from various professional backgrounds and are here to assist you in designing a job search strategy that considers your professional goals, interests, skills, and motivation to your next career move. Services include: job search strategy, resume reviews, developing a personal brand, networking, business communication assistance, mock interviews, negotiation assistance with job offers, and much more.
Workshops and Events
In addition to career advising, students will have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of professional development events. These events are designed to prepare students for an effective and successful job search. Events include networking best practices, writing an effective resume, the importance of story-telling in the job search, business and dining etiquette, building authentic relationships, effective job search strategies for international students, and more.
Corporate Relations & Employer Development
The GCMC develops key partnerships with companies across the country, and the world, in bringing opportunities to students. The corporate relations team partners with corporations, alumni, and friends to plan recruiting events each year. Events include corporate connect information sessions, career fairs, on-campus interviews, resume book referrals, and more.
The GCMC provides an online recruiting portal exclusively William & Mary Graduate Business students - MASONlink. Use MASONlink to search jobs targeted to Mason candidates, share your recruiting profile/ employer preferences and include your resume in targeted referrals sent to employers.
Inside MASONlink you will find:
- Mason Jobs and On-Campus Recruiting. Set up a Job Search Agent to alert you when positions of interest become available.
- Maintain an up-to-date Career Profile and keep a current mistake free default resume to ensure your resume is sent to targeted employers.
- Schedule an advising session with your career advisor.
- NACElink job postings. Offers over six million job opportunities, both domestic and international, aggregated from employer web sites and major job boards (Google, Simply Hired, Indeed).
