WM's Commencement Committee is delighted to be planning a robust weekend of celebration for your class this fall. Working closely with the William & Mary Alumni Association, the weekend will feature the signature Commencement traditions your class most wants to experience in person. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy other festivities during the weekend — for the Class of 2020 it will be a Homecoming like no other!
Here are the days on which the Commencement traditions will occur so that you and your family/guests can schedule your trip accordingly (please note that the times of these events are still being solidified):
A full schedule of weekend events is forthcoming.
As always, the health and well-being of our entire community is our top priority. We will continue to follow the guidance from the commonwealth for in-person gatherings to ensure that everyone can gather together safely.

Yes, regalia is required to be worn by all graduates for Commencement.
What color is the hood supposed to be?

How to put the hood on?
Donning the hood is a two-person job. For tips view a regalia video. Staff will also be on-site to help, if needed.
What should be worn with regalia?
We recommend wearing attire appropriate for the formal atmosphere of Commencement. However, remember that it is likely to be warm that day and you may not want to wear a suit coat under your regalia. Comfortable, business formal shoes are recommended since you will likely do a lot of walking.
