David Burris, MBA '89, and Dean Larry PulleyDavid Burris MBA'89 a Senior Vice President of SunTrust presented a check in the amount of $50,000 on behalf of SunTrust of Hampton Roads to Mason School of Business Dean Lawrence B. Pulley on February 16 in Tyler Hall. The gift completes SunTrust Bank's initial commitment to the fundraising campaign for Alan B. Miller Hall, the future home of the school of business, slated to open in Fall 2009.

In recognition for SunTrust Bank's commitment, a large classroom on the first floor of the new building will be named in its honor.

SunTrust of Hampton Roads was among the first business partners to share in the vision of this new facility.

"Our partnership with SunTrust has been an inspiring one. They have been with us from the beginning and they remain strongly aligned with our vision for Miller Hall," said Pulley.

Groundbreaking for Alan B. Miller Hall is scheduled for March 30 at the its eventual site, the Common Glory parking lot located at the corner of Jamestown Road and Ukrop Way.

Miller Hall will provide approximately 160,000 square feet of space consisting of state-of-the-art facilities for instruction, student activities, faculty offices, visiting scholars, research and other purposes. It will house both the undergraduate, graduate MBA and MAcc programs, corporate education, and executive MBA programs of the school of business.

Major construction on the building is scheduled to begin in Spring 2007.

"I am delighted that SunTrust Bank remains committed to business education at The Mason School of Business. My MBA from William and Mary remains a key to my career success, and I am glad to know that SunTrust Bank's continuing support of The Mason School will ensure that current and future business students will continue to have the same opportunities from which I have benefited," said Burris.
