Jacqueline B. Amato is the President of TowneBank Mortgage, headquartered in Virginia Beach, and sits on the Hampton Roads board of TowneBank. Amato has been in the mortgage lending business for over twenty years.
In 1998, Amato founded Hampton Roads Funding, a partnership with William E. Wood & Associates, with just three employees. Hampton Roads Funding joined forces with TowneBank and became TowneBank Mortgage in 2001. Since then, the company has grown to over 250 employees. TowneBank Mortgage has recently expanded into Richmond and is growing rapidly in the Raleigh area of North Carolina.
Amato is often referred to as the “glue” that holds all the pieces of TowneBank Mortgage together. Focused and driven, she thrives on the fast-paced environment of the mortgage business. “Mortgage banking is very addictive,” Amato says. “I have the good fortune of working with the very best team of mortgage professionals anywhere. We’re always moving 120 miles per hour, and it’s never the same. Our borrowers, sellers, and realtors look to us to make it happen, so time is always of the essence.”
Amato is a contributor to the Achievable Dream program, the Tocqueville Society of United Way, Old Dominion University and is also active with the TowneBank Foundation. A Hampton Roads resident since 1986, Amato is an avid golfer and enjoys playing in tournaments to support various local charities. When invited, she also enjoys saltwater fishing. Having spent part of her childhood living in England, Amato has a passion for travel, and has been fortunate to visit Morocco, Turkey, Spain, Belgium, France and Africa.
Amato has two children, Calley and Jeffrey, and is also the proud grandmother of three adorable granddaughters, Payton, Parker and Presley.
