Sustainability in Business Strategy: Conversations for a Smarter Planet

Jeff Hittner On Friday, October 23, 2009, Jeff Hittner, BBA '98, joined us to share his story of a life in business and sustainability, and how IBM integrates sustainability and social responsibility in their innovative business strategy.

About Mr. Hittner: Jeff Hittner is the Deputy Chair and Director of Research at the Corporate Eco Forum. He joined the Corporate Eco Forum after more than five years at IBM where he led the Corporate Social Responsibility consulting practice for IBM Global Business Services. In addition to his role consulting on the integration of sustainability into core business strategy, he developed IBM's thought leadership on the topic, acting as a key media spokesman quoted in more than 200 news and feature articles worldwide.  Mr. Hittner has more than 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur, teacher and business strategist.  He is also the Chairperson of the Carnegie New Leaders Program at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. He received a bachelor's degree from The College of William & Mary and a Master's degree from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.
