At the Mason School of Business, we strongly encourage all students to gain international experience.  In order to offer students a variety of possibilities as well as accommodate their curricular needs, every summer we take a group of William & Mary students to Budapest, Hungary to study at Corvinus University.  An immersive and experiential study experience, the students learn about business in a Central European context.

This study abroad reaches far beyond the classroom doors and emphasizes a comparative academic experience.  Students engage in active learning; everything from researching local business practices, to touring international business headquarters (students visited Red Bull and Deutsche Bank), to cultural outings at national points of interest.  Also included is a 3-day excursion to Prague and a 1-day study tour to Vienna.

Students choose two out of the three offered business courses, totaling six credits, and a one-credit language and culture course taught by a Corvinus faculty member.  This year students will choose between W&M Prof. Scott Swan's BUAD 450 Global Marketing, Prof. Bob Williams' BUAD 433 Strategies of Entrepreneurship, and BUAD 317 Organizational Behavior (taught by Corvinus faculty).  Organizational Behavior is a required course for all business majors and there will be NO prerequisites for any these courses.

The program runs from May 22 through June 27, and is priced at $5,400.  This includes: housing, 3-day Prague trip, 1-day Vienna Study Tour, an opening and closing dinner ceremony, and daily breakfast (airfare not included).  See the Mason School of Business Summer Study Abroad Scholarship for a need-based scholarship opportunity.  Also check out the Gilman Scholarship Program for another scholarship opportunity.
