Admissions

Welcome to Our Learning Community!

The Undergraduate Business Program at the Mason School of Business is one of the top 25 undergraduate business programs in the country, 8th among public institutions.  We are nationally ranked #1 in Sustainability, #2 in Marketing and #6 in Accounting (Bloomberg BusinessWeek, 2011).

Our program features strong academic pursuits, faculty/student research opportunities, student activities focusing on various disciplines, and the freedom to choose whichever path best suits you as a student.  It is a two-year program with students starting after they have obtained junior standing and completed the business prerequisites.  We have a competitive admissions process, and students must apply if they wish to major or minor in business.

Students accepted as majors in business start the program in the Integrated Foundation Semester.  This semester gives students a broad understanding of business operations and simulates a business environment.  Students work in teams throughout the semester while taking challenging courses in each business discipline.

After completing the Integrated Foundation Semester, students take additional core coursework spanning business strategy, legal environments, and technology applications.  Students choose a major from either Accounting, Finance, Marketing or Process Management & Consulting.  Beyond the major coursework students may also wish to pursue a concentration in a second business discipline and/or an international emphasis.

Students who are majoring in the Arts & Sciences at William & Mary may wish to complement their studies with a minor in business.  Minors complete coursework which focuses on a specific business discipline, choosing from Accounting, Finance, Management & Organizational Leadership, Marketing, and Process Management & Consulting.

Students intending to pursue their interests and push the boundaries of traditional business education, whether through a business major or a business minor, should consider applying to the Undergraduate Business Program at the Mason School of Business.
