Our Students

Students participating in the Health Sector Path of Distinction at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business experience a curriculum that combines the business foundation of an MBA with an industry-designed specialization in the health sector. This course of study prepares students for leadership and change management roles in the health sector. Our current Health Sector Path of Distinction cohort are expected to graduate in May, 2016, having performed summer internships in late May - early August, 2015.

Hans Boateng has experience in retail pharmacy and corporate pharmacy management. He is interested in entrepreneurial projects and business ventures. He worked most recently for a community pharmacy practice and is the co-founder of two technology startup companies. He is board certified and licensed as a pharmacist, eager to bring innovation to health care.

Drew Hoover has demonstrated his ability to organize in clinical practice management and project management. He finished an administrative internship at Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group using NextGen electronic health records to complete physician recruitment and financial reviews. His goal is to apply his knowledge of biosciences to the business of health care.

Anne Medina, ACNP-BC is an extremely experienced licensed nurse practitioner with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. She has been an instructor and preceptor in both schools of nursing and medicine, and has clinical research experience. She has clinical care experience in the acute hospital, psychiatric hospital emergency department, and home settings. The winner of the 2011 "40 under 40" prize from Virginia Nurses Foundation and the Temple Memorial Award from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Education:

She has multiple undergraduate degrees, but boasts a Master of Science in Nursing as an Acute Care NP (2009).

Fiorella Medina has first-hand experience with the not-for-profit health sector. She has worked as an eligibility advocate at an intercity hospital and also served as a legal assistant. She has outstanding communication and analytical skills, in addition to being fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.

Education:

She has two undergraduate degrees, one from the University of Georgia (2010) and the other from Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.

Kalpana Siva has leadership and experience training new employees in the use of electronic medical records. She worked for two years for eScribe Management Services and Williamsburg Emergency Physicians management group using primarily Ibex and EPIC. She has extensive know how supporting and scribing for physicians in the emergency department and acute care settings. With a special interest in finance and accounting, she is interested in placement with the Chief Financial Officer.

Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Neuroscience and Accounting from the College of William & Mary (2013).

Nolyn Whitaker worked her way from pharmacy technician to shift supervisor to store manager at CVS Pharmacy. She was responsible for training other store managers and was selected to participate in the CVS Leadership Conference. Proficient in information about pharmaceuticals and supply chain management in pharmacy, she has demonstrated the ability to successfully lead a team.

Audrey Wobst

Audrey Wobst is a proven leader with background in bioengineering and engineering entrepreneurship. She left Lincoln Financial Advisors to return to school for her MBA. In her most recent role at Lincoln Financial, she managed change management projects, advisor-client relationships, measurement of key performance indicators and new business solutions. Prior to that she completed Lincoln's two-year rotational leadership development program gaining a wide variety of understanding in multiple business units.
