Full Description

Dear Students,

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 7th annual Richmond ACG Cup, the region’s leading MBA business case competition, presented by the Association for Corporate Growth, Richmond Chapter (ACG Richmond) and presenting sponsor Williams Mullen. Each year our students participate and have done quite well in the competition. Please see the Participant Guide and Overview sent via email for full competition details.

The Richmond ACG Cup provides a unique opportunity to challenge yourselves in tackling a real-world business problem in two of the most dynamic and sought after market segments: investment banking and private equity.

There are two rounds in this competition:

1) First round held at the Mason School over January and February

2) Second and Final round held in Richmond at the end of February

Last year, we had a large number of students who wanted to participate.  Since the ACG Cup only allows for 4 teams in the first round and we are expecting lots of student interest, we are asking for teams to submit statements of interest.  These statements of interest will be evaluated by a faculty committee who will select the 4 teams to participate in the first round of the competition.  The criteria for the statements of interest are below:

 Criteria:

  •  1 page in length
  • Brief background of team members
  • Brief explanation of experience in mergers and acquisitions; analyzing financial data and conducting multiple valuations
  • Explain why you should be selected for this year’s first round competition.

If you are interested in participating, please recruit a team and sign up on the following Google Doc. Each team must submit their statement of interest to mba.program@mason.wm.edu by December 1 to be considered for ROUND 1. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Kind regards,

 Brittney & Carlane
