Real Estate Development and Entrepreneurship CAM
Creative thinking. A willingness to view things from different perspectives. An entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll need traits like these to be a success in real estate. And you’ll expand them – and more – in our Real Estate Development and Entrepreneurship CAM.
This new module will help you understand the major forces behind residential and commercial real estate development and finance. Our entrepreneurial focus will help you develop key analytical tools and cultivate political savvy that brings a variety of stakeholders together. You’ll tackle such issues as finance, urban development, world-class green architecture, and repositioning assets – on domestic and international stages.
Professor Benjamin B. Bolger and our Executive Partners will provide practical experience with trips to New York City, Washington, D.C., and other urban venues. You’ll also work on a case study and learn about real estate cycles, the new urbanism, portfolio analysis, redevelopment opportunities, turnaround strategies, smart growth, sustainability, and other important issues.
Visiting academic experts will likewise offer invaluable perspectives on current and recent events. You’ll hear from leading financiers and real estate developers who’ve survived difficult real estate cycles. And the Mason School’s new Alan B. Miller Entrepreneurship Center will prove to be a tremendous resource for your own great ideas.
No prior knowledge or experience in real estate is needed for this CAM. But if you can look at 10,000 acres and envision mixed-use development opportunities, then you’re not only on your way to finding great opportunities in real estate, but creating them as well.
Significant rewards for responsible risk. That’s what real estate entrepreneurship is all about.
