Biography

Jim Carleton retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers on July 1, 2008 with over 30 years of accounting experience. At the time of his retirement, he was the Richmond office managing partner.  During his career in public accounting, he served large publicly-traded international companies, mid-cap public and private companies, and foreign-owned in-bound entities principally in the manufacturing and distribution fields.  Jim has had extensive international experience having directed work to or from PwC offices in over a dozen foreign countries.

Jim taught numerous classes and seminars throughout his career. Professionally, these included courses offered internally by PwC over a 25-year period, CPE classes for the Virginia Society of CPAs including the annual Virginia Society Continuing Education Conference, and a series of classes for newly-hired lawyers of a major Richmond-based international law firm.  Academically, he has taught a financial accounting class to MBA students of The College of William and Mary and Fordham University.  Jim has also led seminars at Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University.
