by Tiffany Ray | September 19, 2011

Executive MBA Class of 2011On Saturday 10, 2011, the Class of 2011 graduated from the Executive MBA Program at the College of William & Mary. This marks the 25th Executive MBA cohort to complete the intense, 20-month journey.

Beginning with a special processional provided by the Williamsburg Fife and Drum, approximately 180 guests watched as 25 students received their MBA diplomas during a ceremony in Alan B. Miller Hall’s Brinkley Commons Room.

The President of the College, Taylor Reveley, addressed the graduates during the ceremony. Provost Michael Halleran was all in attendance. Dean Larry Pulley and Assistant Dean for MBA Programs, Deborah Hewitt, provided congratulatory remarks to the graduates during the ceremony.

Admiral James Loy, former Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security and United States Coast Guard Commandant, served as this year's guest speaker. Admiral Loy reminded the Class of 2011 that their personal contributions are key to the continued success of the Mason School of Business.  During his speech, Loy challenged the graduating class to, "find their personal and professional passion."

Five students were recognized as newly inducted members of the honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma. Only students in the top 20 percent of the class are selected for membership. New members Mike Bozzo, Bill Edwards, Romain Lheritier, Jed Vanichkachorn, and Anthony Vittone were honored at a private event prior to the Diploma Ceremony.

Other honors were presented during the ceremony. The Executive MBA Faculty Excellence Award was awarded to Professor Larry Ring. The Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, which honors the student with the highest cumulative GPA, was given to Romain Lheritier.

Class President Romain Lheritier provided sincere, yet comical, closing remarks, which included a nod to the International Trip, and even, Lady Gaga. A dessert reception for attendees, in the Brinkley Commons Atrium, followed the ceremony.
