Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
1. When should I take the GMAT?
Take the GMAT as early as possible in the application process. The GMAT is now offered in a computer-adapted format, which allows the test to be given year-round. You may retake the test, but only once per calendar month. To register for the test or for more information, call 1.800.717.GMAT (1.800.717.4628) or visit mba.com. Under certain circumstances applicants may request a waiver of the GMAT requirement when applying to the Executive MBA Program. Such waivers are not automatic but may be requested if the applicant meets certain criteria. Please see our guidelines in our GMAT Waiver Policy.2. How do I inform William & Mary about my GMAT results?
When you take the GMAT, mark on the test sheet that you want your official GMAT scores sent to the Executive MBA Program at The College of William & Mary (ETS Code for The College of William & Mary is 9DD-X7-22). When you complete the test, you will receive your unofficial test scores. You may fax them to the Executive MBA Program (757.221.7862). However, the school does require the official GMAT score to complete the application process. It typically takes four to six weeks after your test date for the Executive MBA Program to receive your official score.3. Do I have to complete the Analytical Writing section of the GMAT?
No, the Executive MBA Program does not use the writing section as part of the candidate evaluation process. Thus, you may simply type, "My school does not require the Analytical Writing section," and continue on to the next section of the GMAT. Not completing the writing section will have no effect on your overall score. However, if you are planning to apply to any other MBA program, including other programs at William & Mary, you may be required to complete the writing portion.4. How should I prepare for the GMAT?
GMAT preparatory courses are offered throughout Virginia and surrounding states. The Center for Corporate Education at the College of William & Mary offers a "GMAT Prep Course" twice a year.
