Maryland governor appoints Burns to community college board
Kimberly McCoy Burns, MBA '87, was appointed by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley and unanimously confirmed earlier this year by the Maryland State Senate to the Board of Trustees of Anne Arundel Community College. Burns was sworn into her new role as a trustee on the eight member board on July 20, 2009 for a six year term.
In her new capacity, see will be responsible for overseeing capital projects and other issues relating to the development of the community college. "Community colleges play a vital role in providing a flexible curriculum for citizens of all ages and backgrounds," she said. "I am honored to take on this challenge and give something back to my community," she said.
Kim has been practicing law in Maryland since 1993. She resides in Linthicum, Maryland with her husband and two young children.
